From October 7th to 11th, PhD Pablo Barreiro, researcher of the New Materials Group at the University of Vigo and member of the project, has made a researcher stay at the Departimento di Chemica e Chimica Industriale of Università di Pisa (Italy), to collaborate with PhD Alessia Andreotti, another project member.
Pablo and Alessia were working on the last stage of the Lasering-PH project: the cleaning of the cave and tempera wall paintings mock-ups. The cleaning of a black silica crust was also studied. The tool chosen for cleaning was an Er:YAG (Light Brush 1 from El.En group) working at 2940 nm and with a pulse width of 150 µs. The project partners are working on the analysis of these cleaning performances.
