From December 10th to 13th, Gonzalo Buceta and Laura Andrés, pre-doctoral students within the LaseringPH project of the University of Vigo, were at the CITENI facilities of the University of A Coruña to collaborate with Alberto Ramil
They proceed with the project’s last phase which involved cleaning the mock-ups in accordance with the criteria considered in the earlier stages. This time, a Nd:YVO4 working at 355 nm (UV region) and with a pulse width of 25 ns was employed. Although in some cases, cleanings were not as satisfactory as desired, this laser could be considered for the removal of unwanted substances such as soot or graffiti. So, now that the work has been completed, the team is working on evaluating the effectiveness of the cleanings.
