Dr. Fernando Carrera Ramírez is Professor of Conservation of Archaeological Materials at the Higher School of Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage of Galicia. He has a degree in Prehistory (1997) and in Archaeological Conservation (1987), and a PhD in History (2005), in addition to having attended specialized courses at ICCROM, the Getty Conservation Institute, etc. He has led a large number of final degree projects. His main line of research is dedicated to the conservation of archaeological sites, and especially places with rock art. On this subject, he has participated in different international and national conservation projects.
He has published more than 100 publications (books, chapters, research papers and communications). He is a member of different national and international committees and associations, and participates as a consultant to different organizations.
