ERASMUS Researcher

Kateryna D’Ayala is a student doing an Erasmus project placement at the University of Vigo (Spain) at CINTEXC. She graduated in “Tecnologie per la conservazione e il restauro dei beni culturali” and is currently completing a Master’s degree in “Scienze e tecnologie per la conservazione dei beni culturali”, both at the University of Rome La Sapienza (Italy).

The Bachelor thesis is based on a mineralogical, petrographic and chemical study with a multi-analytical approach of Egyptian ceramics from Antinoe and Aswan, carried out in the laboratories of the geology department of the University La Sapienza.

The Master’s thesis is analogous, but based on a study of wall paintings from Tibet, carried out at the laboratories of the CIC (Centro de Instrumentación Científica) of the University of Granada (Spain) during a 6-month Erasmus+ study. Subsequently, she did an Erasmus project internship at the University of Evora (Portugal) at the Hercules laboratory, taking part in the research project PP-nGLASS – an interdisciplinary study of the impact of the Phoenician-Punic natron glass trade in Iberian communities.
