Laura Andrés-Herguedas is a Researcher PhD Candidate of the PhD Program Protection of Cultural Heritage at the University of A Coruña. She received a BSc in Energy Engineering (2020) and a MSc in Mining Engineering (2022), both at the University of Vigo (Spain). Her Master’s Thesis was focused on evaluating the effectiveness of strategies for the conservation of spray paints used in murals, specially applying a previous layer and/or protectors and subjected them to a QUV accelerated ageing test. The physical, chemical and mineralogical changes experienced by the samples were analysed through different analytics, i.e., colouring monitoring, X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) contact angle measurement, peeling test, and scanning electron microscopy coupled with energy dispersive spectroscopy (SEM-EDS). She has combined her studies with organising employability fairs in the technology field for 5 years.
Laura Andrés-Herguedas was supported by the PRE2022-105106 PhD contract funded by MICIU/AEI/10.13039/501100011033 and, by ESF+.
